About Making Dreams Real

Making Dreams Real mission is to transition and give hope to those with mental illness, homelessness, the unemployed and the incarcerated, both adults and youth, loving them into wholeness through a holistic approach by developing relationships and self-esteem. The present clinical/medical model or similar variations have been in place for around 50 years. There are many areas that are moving to the non-clinical model to address this issue. This requires a Theory of Change, requiring in most cases private funding to prove that this new theory will be successful and address the treatment gaps in our community. Making Dreams Real goal is to change the process of mental health treatment for those that are incarcerated or in a mental health crisis. This will be accomplished with a Mental Health College. These colleges are very successful in Europe but there is not a Recovery College in the United States. Making Dreams Real is implementing the first Recovery College in the United States.
