About Making Waves Limited
Making waves is a professional swim school with decades of experience. We're Scotland's biggest independent swimming school, and we're here for you and your children. More than 18,000 children have learned to swim confidently and happily, with Making Waves' innovative programme. You'll watch your child learn to swim well and love the water. This purpose-built facility has been designed with families in mind. From the large changing rooms, to the child-friendly shower area and from the warm, clean pool to the open viewing area, it has all been set out with learning and comfort in mind. Our Team We are a family business, with a love of swimming and of teaching others.Tom and Nicola hand-pick our Making Waves team members for their abilities as swimming coaches and also for their caring, fun-loving natures. We look for enthusiasm and confidence in all our staff. Our Lessons Bubble Babies classes are baby swimming classes designed for little ones from 6 months to 3 years old. We find most toddlers graduate to level 1 well ahead of their third birthday. We are looking to gain confidence and independence in the water for our Bubble Babies, who then graduate towards independent swimming from a solid basis of learning. In all our Bubble Babies classes, we are carefully building motor programmes that will set the foundation for level 1 and a child's overall positive movement pattern. Children We teach children from the age of 2¾, or straight from the Bubble Babies programme, in our group sessions. There are no more than 6 children per group, and always plenty of lifeguard cover on the poolside, watching the swimming platforms. Children are taught on an individual basis, while working in groups. Adults We offer individual or group tuition for adults and have a variety of slots to suit your diary. Because our facility is exclusive, we can offer you the time, privacy and experience needed to help you learn to swim.
