About Mallee Regional Innovation Centre
The Mallee Regional Innovation Centre strives to prioritise and fast track research and development projects to address key regional challenges across the areas of horticulture, water, energy and the environment. With the support of its partners, the University of Melbourne, La Trobe University and SuniTAFE, and by connecting businesses, industry, government and researchers, the Centre has been facilitating new opportunities and innovations for the region since its inception in 2019. The Centre is headquartered in Mildura, which is located along the banks of the Murray River in northwest Victoria. The Victorian Mallee is one of Australia's most productive areas, noted for its high-value irrigated horticulture with a wide variety of crops, including grapes, nuts and citrus. The Centre prioritises research projects that address key challenges for regions, pairing in-depth knowledge of the local area and leveraging local leadership and expertise through our Strategic Advisory Panel.
