The concept behind Management & Safety Training Ltd is simple: to offer high quality training to businesses of all sizes, and to do so at an affordable price. As the Health & Safety Executive make abundantly clear in their leaflet “Health & safety training: what you need to know” both staff and managers within any organisation must understand health & safety principles if they are to: a) stay on the right side of the law; and b) develop an effective safety culture. The need for compliance has been strengthened by the introduction, in January 2009, of the Health & Safety (Offences) Act 2008. Most health & safety offences now attract a maximum penalty of an unlimited fine and two years’ imprisonment. What is not well understood is that these penalties can also apply to individuals as well as companies, and the Courts also have the right to ban convicted persons from holding directorships. In line with the recommendations of the HSE we offer a range of approved health & safety courses accredited by the awarding body HABC. Currently the courses offered are at Level 2 and 3 on the National Qualifications Framework, i.e. designed for both the workforce and managers, but in due course we will also offer a Level 4 course aimed at senior managers and directors.
