Manchester Social is more than just a community, it’s a movement dedicated to breaking down social barriers and fostering genuine human connection. Founded on 7 January 2025, what began as a simple search for like-minded individuals has transformed into a thriving, inclusive network of over 1,000 members across Greater Manchester. We believe that no one should feel isolated or struggle to find meaningful social connections. Our weekly events provide a welcoming space where people from all backgrounds, including those facing disabilities or mental health challenges, can meet, share experiences, and build friendships that truly enrich their lives. Our impact has been recognised by the Manchester subreddit, a platform of over 410,000 members, which now actively directs individuals towards our community for social support. This recognition is a testament to the genuine need for spaces like ours, where people feel safe, valued, and empowered to connect. But Manchester Social is just getting started. We are actively working to transition into a fully registered non-profit, developing strategic partnerships, and engaging with social enterprise experts to ensure our long-term sustainability. As we continue to grow, our vision remains clear: to make Greater Manchester a place where no one feels alone, and where friendships and support networks thrive.
