About Mandarin Schoolhouse
We are a high-quality early learning center set in the intimate setting of a family home. Founding Director Sue-Lynn Ng Yap is an early childhood educator with over 15 years of experience working with young learners. She first embarked on her teaching career in Montessori education, teaching at Montessori schools in both her native Malaysia and New York City. Throughout the years, she also taught English as a Second Language and trained as a special education teacher. Sue-Lynn eventually went on to teach Mandarin Chinese to preschoolers at Avenues: The World School, a prestigious private school in New York known for its highly sought-after language immersion program. When Sue-Lynn became a new mother to her son, she decided to stay home and do what she does best - to nourish, inspire, and educate.
