The Shipley Clinic delivers essential pediatric care to children from low-income families and underserved communities. As the only provider in the area dedicated exclusively to pediatric care, our services are vital to ensuring all children—regardless of income, insurance, or immigration status—have access to high-quality, compassionate healthcare. Our team—including a Pediatrician, Care Coordinator, Community Health Workers, and specially trained staff—offers longer appointments (45–60 minutes), unlike RVU-constrained hospital systems. This allows for deeper engagement with families, addressing trauma, developmental delays, chronic illness, and mental health—needs more prevalent among children living in poverty. Our comprehensive services include: • Well-child visits – Babies need nine visits in their first year alone. Though we serve 1,800 patients, we’ve had over 5,200 visits this year. • Same-day sick care – Supports faster recovery, working parents, and improved school attendance, a growing concern since COVID-19. • Immunizations – Offered at no cost to protect individual and public health. • Developmental screenings – Includes speech, hearing, vision, and growth tracking, guided by our dual-certified Nurse Practitioner. • Sports physicals – Promotes health and inclusion in school activities. • Lead testing/labs – On-site testing ensures immediate care and connection to public health resources, especially critical for families with transportation barriers. • Behavioral health support – We treat anxiety, depression, ADHD, and more thanks to staff certified in pediatric behavioral health. • Nutrition education – Families receive direct guidance and referrals for access to healthy food. • Support program referrals – Families are connected to vital resources beyond medical care.
