About Marin County Bicycle Coalition
Founded in 1998, Marin County Bicycle Coalition (MCBC) advances the common good of cycling for a better Marin. When you ride Marin's roads, trails and pathways, you Experience MCBC. MCBC GIVES CYCLISTS A VOICE We advocate vigorously for increased bicycle & pedestrian funding, interconnected routes, and policies to enable a great ride. We are always looking forward, working to build a bike-friendly Marin. MCBC EDUCATES THE NEXT GENERATION We help build new rider confidence through safety and skills education— from classes teaching parents the joy of cycling with their children, to programs demonstrating the benefits of green transportation. MCBC BUILDS THE CYCLING COMMUNITY Every new cyclist is a power for good. We support Marin'’s diverse cycling community. Our network of events is a central hub for cyclists of all ages and skill levels to connect, learn, ride, and have fun. Our Road Advocacy Program builds the political support needed to identify, promote and fund bike and pedestrian improvements in Marin. Safety and connectivity between communities are the driving themes. We work closely with our public agency partners toward completing the North-South and East-West Greenways, Marin’'s primary bicycle and pedestrian routes. The MCBC Off-Road Program expands mountain biking opportunities through education, environmental stewardship and trail development. We are committed to bridging gaps in Marin’'s trails network, while also maintaining and restoring existing trails. This effort is guided by the vision of one day riding from the Golden Gate Bridge to Point Reyes, all off-road. Safe Routes to Schools improves the quality of life for entire school communities through education, encouragement and infrastructure improvements. Presented in partnership with the Transportation Authority of Marin, Safe Routes teaches cycling skills and promotes healthy lifestyles, while championing green transportation.
