About Marine Research Hub of South Florida
The Marine Research Hub of South Florida, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed to raise the visibility, reputation, and prestige of South Florida’s oceanographic research institutions and encourage the transfer of technology toward the commercialization and monetization of marine research. The Marine Research Hub is both a non-profit Florida corporation with a Board of Directors and a consortium created through a Memorandum of Understanding between eight founding members comprised of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and the region’s three economic development organizations - the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, and the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County; two public universities - Florida Atlantic University and Florida International University; and two private universities - Nova Southeastern University, and the University of Miami. The objective of the Marine Research Hub (MRH) is to foster collaboration among research, education, business, and economic development organizations to establish the region as a global leader in oceanographic research that is making or may make a positive impact on the health of the oceans and bring substantial benefits to the global population.
