About Marion Friedmann Gallery
Marion Friedmann has been a design advocate for more than twenty years, working as a curator, collector, art-advisor and consultant. Marion Friedmann Gallery/London launched in 2011 and merges a penchant for the avant-garde with a passion to celebrate and promote the most remarkable emerging and established contemporary designers.The media acclaimed show `Enlightened Waste ́ marked the beginning of the gallery’s trajectory as an ambassador for international design with an established focus on Mexico and Latin America. Her featured talents were brought to the spotlight in various acclaimed gallery exhibitions between London, Austria, Milan and Mexico City, as well as in a blockbuster museum exhibition at the Museum of Art and Design (MAD) in New York about contemporary Latin American design. The gallery operates through a nomadic system of bold pop-up exhibitions and represents vanguard limited edition design with a special interest in `Materiality ́. A fascination in materials, materiality and narratives informs the pieces: furniture, lighting, objets d`art as well as the development of special commissions for clients. In her curatorial and research roles Friedmann has been working on a wide range of projects with clients like the Victoria and Albert Museum (2008-2017), the British Council, private galleries, and has lectured about Design, Curation and Latin American Design at Kingston University & the Design Museum, Chelsea College of Art and Design, Sotheby's Institute of Art, ADM institute Mexico City, Centro University, Mexico City and Anáhuac University, Mexico. We work with Interior Designers and Architects to develop bespoke pieces and we cater for collectors to enrich their design, art, and craft part of their collections.
