About Marshall H. & Nellie Alworth Memorial Fund
$24,000 scholarships to help high school seniors attend college for science and math majors. The award amount is distributed over four years ($6,000 per year). Applications accepted November 1 - January 15. In addition to the $24,0000 scholarships, Alworth awards community college sophomores $12,000 dollars to be distributed over four semesters ($3,000 per semester) to transfer to an accredited academic institution to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in a mathematics, science, engineering or medical field of study. Applicants must be a United State Citizen and be graduating from a high school in one of the following counties in Northeastern Minnesota: Aitkin, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing, Lake, Itasca, Koochiching, and St. Louis.
