About Martha Root Community Building
Welcome to the Martha Root Community Building (MRCB) MRCB is a Baha’i-inspired, nondenominational organization rooted in the belief that strong, empowered parents are the foundation of thriving children and communities. Founded by Eli Pakravan—whose childhood dream was to help children live better lives—MRCB was born from her direct work with Hispanic small businesses and refugee students in Amarillo, Texas. She saw clearly that real change starts at home. Inspired by her Baha’i upbringing and the values of love, discipline, and moral education, Eli launched MRCB’s first parent empowerment program in April 2024. In just six months, it grew to support over 30 families and 125 individuals—proof that families are eager for support that is both personal and purposeful. Our name honors Martha Louise Root, a courageous early 20th-century Baha’i woman who traveled the world promoting peace, education, and unity. Her legacy inspires our work. At MRCB, we create safe spaces for parents and youth to begin a journey of self-discovery. Through our programs, families learn to identify and develop their inner strengths as powerful life and soft skills. These capacities help them navigate challenges with confidence and purpose, becoming not only resilient individuals but also agents of change and protagonists in building stronger, more joyful communities. Our Areas of Focus: 🔹 Women’s Empowerment Groups – Building resilience and personal growth 🔹 Parent Support Groups (WFD) – Strengthening parenting and life skills 🔹 Parents Assistance Centre – Supporting families new to Amarillo or navigating challenges 🔹 Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Program – Developing moral and intellectual capacity (ages 11–15) 🔹 Youth Empowerment Group – Mentorship and skill-building for older youth (ages 15–22) Join us in building a brighter future—rooted in values, driven by love, and sustained by unity.
