MARU LOS ANGELES A supper club designed to provide great food with even better conversation. With the rise of smart phone usage, ‘foodies’, and social media, our team has discovered our demographic’s pain point,: the desire for genuine, purposeful conversation. WHAT DOES ‘MARU’ MEAN Maru in Korean means ‘wooden floors’, referring to the wooden floors found in traditional Korean living rooms — a place where Korean families often gather for a meal. Maru is based on this tradition, as we re-create that memorable feeling of gathering, except around our wooden table. OUR MISSION is to revolutionize the restaurant industry by incorporating a social aspect into fine dining. Our events, or ‘tasting series’, are presented through the flavors of a multi-course tasting menu, surrounded by an intimate gathering of strangers and friends alike, and remembered as an experience unlike any other. HOW IT WORKS Our team hand selects 5 guests from our invitation list (currently +370 guests) to attend a ‘tasting series’ with a plus one. Our BOH team works to create a dynamic tasting menu, with an emphasis on Korean and Italian cuisine. Our FOH team is intimately involved in the experience, providing questions to elicit unique conversations amongst the 5 pairs of strangers. WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH Come eat and meet.
