About Mary Jane's People
Mary Jane's People was founded to provide people and talent services for the cannabis and wellness industries intentionally working with Women and PGM leaders to make work better. We do this by building well-being into the cornerstone of companies with the following tenets - making people the highest priority, building the team you want to be on, and community connections. We founded Mary Jane's People to combine our love of connecting and serving people and plant medicine with a mission to make work better. What we do is simple - our clients generally ask us to first focus on recruiting and then building and optimizing their HR departments and programs. How we do it is the exciting part and we do it by implementing practical methods and approaches based on the intrinsic motivation theory called Self Determination Theory. We build our people foundations focusing on the 3 elements of Self Determination Theory - autonomy, competency, and relationships. Research shows that the consistent presence of these 3 are needed to fulfill our most basic needs, and impacts a person's overall satisfaction and well-being universally. And this is how we make work better. Our client industries are diverse and include, cannabis, wellness, biotech, and tech. Our background started in healthcare and pivoted to a variety of others including technology, retail, finance, biotech, and logistics. We love what we do and our mission is to make work better for 100 companies within the next 10 years. We offer training and private 1:1 consultations with The Work Bench. We offer Jobs for Mary Jane's People with our job board. And we serve the community with Mary Jane's Closet, our nonprofit career closet, and career development help for trans women, survivors of domestic violence, and the formerly incarcerated.
