About Maryland HIMSS Chapter

The Maryland Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) provides leadership in the advancement and effective use of technology for all aspects of care. Our Mission: We have more than 2,000 members throughout the state and continue to experience consistent growth! Our membership includes individuals in the fields of information systems, government & policy, clinicians & allied health, biomedical engineers, telehealth, and more. We support and serve academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, government, and for-profit companies in health care delivery, managed care, consulting, and technology. Our broad and diverse membership brings valued potential for conversation about the challenges and opportunities within our industry. We share our recent news as well as archiving our current and past newsletters to our membership. Get Involved: Our goal is to provide professional development through high quality educational and networking sessions and events throughout the year for all of our members. Maryland HIMSS also offers many volunteer opportunities serving on committees, including event planning, advocacy, communications, as well as engagement with members, partners, and sponsors. Our “Get Involved” section of the web site provides a listing and description of our committees for those who are interested in becoming an active member or volunteer. Events: Maryland HIMSS wants to keep our members active and updated on industry trends and news. Our committees work hard to plan and execute multiple events highlighting technology and infrastructure, clinical applications and informatics, data analytics and exchange, cybersecurity, and RCM.
