About Mask Consultants

Mask Consultants LLC, was started in 1946 by Homer Mask. Mr. Mask was previously employed by the US Department of Labor and the North Carolina Employment Security Commission. The company began with a vision of prevention, focusing on getting clients in compliance with various state and federal regulations rather than trying to get them out of trouble after the fact. Mike Calkins, Phil Webb, and Derek Bridges, 3rd and 4th generation partners, have expanded the business to include most areas of the Human Resources arena. The primary focus of the company remains Wage/Hour compliance and Unemployment management for our valued clients. Employer’s Tax Credit Services was started in 2003 to assist employers in locating, identifying, and applying available state and federal tax credits resulting in a reduction in our client’s tax liabilities. Most importantly to our clients, Homer’s initial vision of prevention remains our focus: it is always best to help keep our clients up to date and out of trouble, rather than help them once they are in trouble. This strong foundation of tradition and common-sense values has lasted from Homer Mask’s first days as a company through today. It is best reflected in the fact the average client we serve has worked with us for more than 20 years. Remarkably in today’s age of changing relationships, we have a handful of clients with whom we have worked with for more than 50 years!
