Our Story Co-founded by Tuma Young, a respected Mi'kmaq elder, and Dr. Matthias Bierenstiel, a chemistry professor, Maskwiomin was born out of a decade-long journey of research and rediscovery. The duo combined Tuma's deep knowledge of Mi'kmaq healing traditions with Dr. Bierenstiel’s scientific expertise to revive an ancient birch bark recipe. This unique fusion of Indigenous wisdom and modern science has led to the development of a skincare line that is both highly effective and deeply respectful of its cultural origins.
