About Mass Mileage

The former Supermileage Vehicle Team stands as the flagship MIE design team at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, dedicated to exploring the ultimate efficiency of gasoline-powered vehicles. Our mission revolves around a singular question: How efficient can such a vehicle truly be? Established in 1995, the team has a long history of participating in the SAE Supermileage Competition, a tradition that unfortunately came to an end in 2022. We are adapting our car to meet the requirements of the Shell Eco-marathon. We strive to cultivate essential skills in manufacturing and design, ensuring that our members graduate not only with academic knowledge but with a practical understanding of manufacturing and design.
