About Massachusetts Horsemen's Council
The Massachusetts Horsemen's Council (MHC) is the governing committee for MA horse shows, the Massachusetts State Finals (MHC Finals), Scholarships to members looking to excel their higher education, and a member of the New England Horsemen's Council. The MHC was formed in 1961 as a non-profit organization for the following purposes, as stated in our By-laws: - To serve and promote the best interests of Massachusetts horsemen and horsewomen. - To serve, encourage, support, promote and protect the interests of Junior riders and exhibitors. - To cooperate with the USEF,inc. and the NEHC, Inc. and assist in the fair and complete enforcement of the rules of these organizations. - To maintain annual High-score point totals of exhibitors competing in MHC affiliated competitions. Year-end high point awards given to those Owners and Exhibitors who are members of the MHC. - To maintain proper records for the use of MHC members in connection with the sport. - To create and maintain public interest in the breeding, training, riding, and exhibiting of horses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
