We’re a Hawke’s Bay-based, family-owned business producing premium grass-fed Angus beef and chicory-finished lamb for those who value quality, flavour, and provenance. Our difference starts at the source. We only sell what we raise ourselves - 100% grass-fed Angus cattle and Romney lambs grown across our two farms in Hawke’s Bay. From carefully selected genetics to low-stress farming practices, our livestock are bred with purpose and grown with patience. That means high marbling, exceptional tenderness, and deeply satisfying flavour in every cut. Once ready, our beef is aged on the bone for 21 days and expertly butchered in-house. It’s a level of care you can taste - and it’s why our meat is trusted by New Zealand’s leading chefs, boutique caterers, and food lovers alike. Every step of the Matangi process is managed by our small, passionate team. This full control allows us to maintain the highest standards of quality, animal welfare, and sustainability. No shortcuts.
