About Mathe Group Company
With the ever increasing health and environmental concerns, the disposal of waste tires is a growing problem all over the world. Mathe Group Company, a waste tyre processing plant recycles whole truck tyres into a valuable product called crumb rubber. This crumb rubber is then used in numerous applications including sport fields, rubberized asphalt for paving and a wide variety of molded products. The steel and fiber removed during this process is also recycled into various products. Mathe Group Company is a fully black owned (100%) holding company. Mathe Group has ventured into South Africa's relatively new industry of sustainable tyre recycling having researched the economic viability of industry and finding that it has great potential. Mathe Group currently has a fully operational tyre recycling facility in New Germany, Kwa-Zulu Natal which processes waste tyres into 'rubber crumb' that used as input in many other industries i.e. Asphalt for road/pavement, construction, insulation products, rubber tiling etc. Mathe Group has taken this challenge as an opportunity to more effectively handle tyre waste by recycling tyres in a sustainable and environmentally friendly method involving sorting, 3 phase crushing/ processing and packaging a final product called rubber crumb that is demanded as an input in many industries. This is the future of tyre waste management and is growing industry in South Africa under the umbrella of Green Economy.
