About Maughan Thiem Auto Sales Pty
The Maughan Thiem Motor Company was established in 1912. The firm began as a partnership between Hubert Behrens and Eric Marshall, trading under the name Behrens and Marshall. At the time of its formation, provision was made for Alfred Ross Thiem to join the partnership, which he eventually did in April 1913. By December of that year, Frederick Milton Maughan had also joined the business, and it continued to operate as a partnership until December 1920, when it was formally registered as the Maughan Thiem Motor Company. After 93 years of trading, Maughan Thiem is now the oldest Ford dealer trading in Adelaide. In December 2000, Maughan Thiem acquired the operation of City Mazda. Then in October 2002 Hyundai was added to the impressive list of franchises under the Maughan Thiem banner. The total operations of the business are overseen by Dealer Principal Peter Thomas and Finance Director Murray Forbes. Peter and Murray have each worked in the business for more than 30 years, and have a direct link with the company's first owners. This maintains the firm's original business philosophy and ethics, a formula which has ensured the continuing success of this dynamic and solid company. The future certainly looks bright for the customers, friends and staff of Maughan Thiem and City Mazda.
