Maxol is Ireland’s oldest and foremost independent oil company. Although the Maxol name itself was only introduced in 1972, the company has a long and interesting history dating back to 1920 when it was founded by William G. McMullan. Today Maxol has Service Stations and Lubricant Distributors in every county in Ireland and indirectly employees an estimated 1,200 people. The Maxol Group is part of McMullan Bros. Limited which comprises of Maxol Limited and Maxol Lubricants Limited in the Republic of Ireland and Maxol Oil Limited and Maxol Direct Limited in Northern Ireland. The Group markets a comprehensive range of oil and petroleum products to all sectors of the Irish Market and has grown considerably in recent years both organically and through strategic acquisitions. Turnover for the Group today is in excess of €700m. Since it’s inception in 1990 Maxol Lubricants has grown its network to over 1,500 customers nationwide. Firmly positioned as a dedicated lubricants company we market a wide range of products and services from our headquarters in Santry, Dublin, located just off the M50. With over 1,600 SKU’s in our product portfolio we cater to a broad range of industries from haulage to public transport, to the agricultural market and everything in between. Some of our major clients include Irish Naval Services, Translink, Nissan, Bus Eireann and ESB Networks.
