When was the last time you enjoyed the sights and sounds of children playing, or watched a young person learn? It can be exciting, creative, daunting, and ground-breaking all at the same time. At McLellan Bush Architects what children, teenagers and young adults need and wish for from learning spaces is always front of mind when we create unique environments which are as practical as they are beautiful. Put simply... We listen. We create. We communicate. We deliver. We support. We care. Since 2009 we’ve worked with primary and secondary school communities to realise their vision and navigate the expected challenges of running a school while driving new construction. We plan for our support to be on hand every step of the way, from the first briefing right up until after the project is completed. We’re proud to set award winning benchmarks for the industry, create designs which inspire learning, build spaces providing accessibility for all, and receive praise from clients and peers too. But our greatest sense of achievement comes from hearing children share how much they love our spaces – which help teachers teach, and kids learn. Every child learns differently. Colour can stimulate and calm. Space might provide quiet sanctuary or broaden experiences. Design promotes collaboration and forges independence. With this in mind, we are inspired to stay curious at McLellan Bush Architects, constantly challenge our craft, and most importantly to never stop learning.
