About McNamara Alumni Center, U of MN
The McNamara Alumni Center is an architecturally-stunning event venue on the University of Minnesota campus. It is privately owned and managed by the University Gateway Corporation, a partnership of the U of MN Foundation and U of MN Alumni Association. Hosting more than 500 events a year, the alumni center has won numerous regional and national awards: -Best University Event Venue by Minnesota Meetings & Events -Best High Tech Venue by Unique Venues -Top 50 Places to Get Married by Brides Magazine -Best Meeting Facility by Minnesota Meetings & Events magazine The largest of the center's 10 rooms is Memorial Hall which soars 85 feet tall and is inspired by the Minnesota landscape--it's lined with 6 miles of wood, 75,000 square feet of copper and has a 150 foot long water feature. It has been the backdrop for an Acura car commercial, MTV music video and presidential visits. Along with its gorgeous interiors, the McNamara Alumni Center has many conveniences for conferences and meetings: 10 distinct rooms all on the first floor; superior built-in AV throughout the conference center; award-winning D’Amico Catering onsite; tunnel connections to an adjacent 500-car parking ramp and the adjacent Graduate Hotel.
