Maryland Medication Assisted Treatment and Technology or MD MATT is a Baltimore based team that treats patient’s addiction to opioids with medication and a scientific approach. MD MATT uses technology in unprecedented ways to support our patient’s mental health and make their lives easier during recovery. Technology has incredible power to help with recovery; it connects us, makes our lives easier, and is a lifeline in our time of need. It can also help facilitate lifestyle changes through reminders and progress tracking. Changing our habits is challenging. However, change is made easier when you’re armed with facts, a scheduled program, and have a clear purpose (health, relationships, career) for your progress. At MD MATT, technology is used to support the patients during their time in recovery. Purpose and Community is what helps people progress and move forward. Technology can help facilitate change, but it won’t lead to long term recovery. For that to happen, the patient first needs to have a strong grasp of their purpose (short and long term goals). Only then can they can start building a community to support them as they try and achieve their goals. Science, Support, and Community are the keys to fighting opioid addiction. The science is medicine and technology, in most cases Suboxone and Smartphones. The support is in the passion that our staff exudes, but also in the way we utilize the powers of technology in ways that no other practice does. In the end, community is the true engine of recovery.
