Mike Dixon Imports (MDI) has been involved in the cycle trade since the 1980’s. Mike, the founder of the company, was a keen racing cyclist based in Belgium where he lived for several years and met his future wife. No doubt using the contacts he had made whilst racing, Mike, upon his return to the UK started importing and selling cycling brands from mainland Europe to eager British cyclists. MDI are responsible for bringing some of the most famous brand names in cycling to the UK for the first time, including Colnago, Italmanubri (ITM) and Time Pedals.In 2012, under the stewardship of Mike’s son, MDI relocated 18 miles North from Ormskirk to new premises in Blackpool and a new team was brought in to move the company forward and ensure we could continue to supply the biggest brands in road cycling to shops around the country. The current team at MDI have almost 100 years experience in the cycle trade and have enjoyed most disciplines and levels of cycling over the years from basic commuting to BMX racing, MTBing on the local trails, Sunday club runs and Road Racing. Going into 2017 we will continue to supply IBD’s and some of the big online stores with many of the top brands in road cycling including Campagnolo, Shimano, Deda Elementi, Continental, Michelin, Vittoria, and Vredestein.
