Mission: The Kitchen serves the Wichita Falls community by meeting nutritional requirements while providing complementary services and connections to those in need. Who We Are: Officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) in May of 1967, Senior Citizens Services of North Texas (SCSNT) has operated in Wichita Falls for more than 47 years. In October 2011, SCSNT re-branded to be known as The Kitchen. The Kitchen and its volunteers ensure delivery of more than 900 Meals on Wheels to seniors, home-bound and disabled of Wichita Falls, Texas every Monday through Friday. An average of 150 seniors enjoy a hot, nutritious meal each day at our Red Door and Green Door Senior Centers. The Kitchen also helps meet the nutritional needs of children through our Kid's Meals program. More than 10,000 meals are prepared and packaged for delivery for the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank’s Kids Cafe program each month. How We Serve: Meals on Wheels – More than 850 hot, nutritious meals are delivered to the homebound elderly and disabled by caring volunteers every weekday, Monday through Friday. Congregate Meals – Seniors ages 60+ enjoy a hot meal with lots of good cheer and friendship each weekday, Monday through Friday, at the Red Door and Green Door Senior Citizens Centers in Wichita Falls. Kids Programs – The Kitchen prepares and packages more than 10,000 meals per month for the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank’s Kid’s Café program. Kid’s Meals are delivered to Wichita Falls Boys and Girls Clubs, Campfire locations and Southside Youth Center Monday through Friday for children participating in these nutrition programs.
