We believe all children, regardless of neighborhood or zip code, deserve a quality education to prepare them as contributors in our local and global economies. To fulfill that vision, MeckEd educates, engages and impacts the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community through work that supports strong, vibrant, and successful public schools. MeckEd was created in 2006 as a result of a merger of four nonprofit, educational entities in Mecklenburg County. As a trusted source of information for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community, CMS leadership, and the Board of Education, MeckEd recognizes a well-informed and engaged community is essential to a public education system that graduates students who are college- and career-ready. MeckEd connects parents, educators, civic and faith-based organizations, community leaders, businesses, and other stakeholders in support of public education.
