Since 2013, Medicine for the Greater Good (MGG), a Johns Hopkins Medicine initiative, has been driven by its vision to eliminate socioeconomic barriers to health and ensure wellness for all communities it serves. What started as boots on the ground strategies engaging physician citizens and community members in training and education on equitable access to health and care, has evolved into an entity focused on driving forward innovative strategies to create sustainable ecosystems that support community connectivity and reaffirm medicine as a public trust. Over a decade after its inception, MGG is now a leader in training and placement of community health workers in the state of Maryland; a trusted community partner in the Baltimore and DC regions; and a nationally recognized leader in long-term community partnership, health equity, and strategic deployment of capital for data-driven community improvement. MGG is proud to be in partnership on community initiatives with organizations like the Johns Hopkins HEAT Corp, Centro Sol, and the Johns Hopkins Center for Clinical and Translational Research, among others. On the strategic community investment side, we have an exciting and innovative partnership with HumanityCorp. a public benefit entity with a focus on improving healthcare outcomes across the country. Together, MGG and HumanityCorp have come together in pursuit of closing gaps in disparities in care and implementing large-scale community transformation initiatives across the country.
