In 2005, Heather led the development of the first Managed Medicaid network in DuPage, Lake, McHenry and Will Counties in Illinois. This network directly solved the shortage of accessible Medicaid providers—a gap that often forced underserved members to seek costly emergency room care. A year later, she founded Healthcare Provider Connections, a boutique consulting firm specializing in provider network development and nationwide contract facilitation. Over the years, Heather and her team have helped major health plans build robust, high-performing networks across the country. Her most rewarding project was developing the VA CCN National Network in 2019 where Veterans could access local, quality care and reduce wait times at the VA Clinics. Leveraging this deep industry expertise and a forward-thinking approach, Heather launched MedXContract—a cutting-edge Contracting HUB designed to connect providers and payors instantly and efficiently. The platform simplifies every step of the contracting journey—from lead generation to execution—saving time, reducing costs, and creating better outcomes for all parties involved.
