About Mental Health Commission of Western Australia

The Mental Health Commission is responsible for planning and purchasing mental health, alcohol and other drug services in Western Australia. We do not provide direct mental health services, but purchase services for the state from a range of providers, including public Health Service Providers, a wide range of non-government organisations and private services. On 1 July 2024, the Mental Health Commission (the Commission) launched a dedicated Office of Alcohol and Other Drugs as part of a broader package of reforms to strengthen and elevate alcohol and other drugs governance in Western Australia. The Office of Alcohol and Other Drugs (the Office) is responsible for informing, developing, and overseeing the State Government’s alcohol and other drugs strategy and system-wide strategic policy reform, to achieve better outcomes for the Western Australian community. Our Vision is for Western Australians to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
