About Mentoring Plus (M+)

Our mission is to empower disadvantaged youth and their families to fulfill their potential and to contribute to the well-being of the community by forming relationships based on mutual trust, compassion, and respect. Here's how it works: Strong personal relationships. The Mentoring Plus model combines personal relationships with services – one without the other would be ineffective. By getting involved in almost every aspect of a youth’s life (home, school, community, etc.) we help build bridges between support systems and positive opportunity. We stick around. We are long term - youth stay in the program 1-3 years and the program is as open ended as needed. Our mentors are committed to helping transform teens and their families into confident, contributing community members. Empowerment. Character education is a priority and teens learn that morals, values, respect and trust are vital to growth and happiness. Spirituality is also a key component to the success of our program. No other mentoring program serves such a high risk youth and provides such comprehensive services.
