About Merbau Capital

Merbau Capital’s primary goal is to trade the principals’ own money. The Managing Directors (Trevor Cowan and Franco D’Aulerio) have considerable experience in financial markets having both run trading teams for UK and international banks for many years. We do not manage money for anyone else and so are free to trade as we wish in order to attempt to generate positive returns. Merbau also wants to provide readable, independent commentary on markets when we see interesting events or movements. We don’t pretend to be economists or econometric analysts, but we believe we sometimes have an independent view that some will find of interest. As so many of the traditional sources of comment in the UK are now so heavily involved with the authorities, we feel that another, non-aligned, view will not hurt. We are not offering investment advice, of course, just our thoughts on markets and events. There are other websites that we think are also independent, informative and entertaining, and we’ll add links to those in time.
