About Mercurius Wageningen

Mercurius Wageningen is the study association for the students of the Bachelor Business and Consumer studies, Bachelor Economics and Governance and Master Management, Economics and Consumer Studies. Mercurius is one of the biggest study associations in Wageningen with about 800 members. Mercurius is a study association; this means that is an association for students who follow the same study or main subject. Mercurius focusses on three tasks: education, increase knowledge and sociability. The goal of Mercurius is advocacy and knowledge assimilation of members and the improvement of social contacts between the bachelor and master students and students from other study associations. Thereby Mercurius has three pillars; professional, education, and social. The professional pillar focusses on the preparation for the future career. Examples are providing information about internships and jobs, getting our students in touch with companies through business days and in-house days. Last but not least, Mercurius organises business presentations for companies who have a vacancy. We find the right students for the vacancy. On the education level, Mercurius tries to contribute to the quality of education of the studies involved. This includes organizing excursions and lectures, offering practice exams and summaries, organizing study skills practices and participating in program committees. The social pillar aims to integrate students with their peers, younger and older students and students of other studies within Mercurius. It the social aspect of diverse activities. Examples are drinks, parties, lunches, dinners and sport activities. Students have to enjoy themselves to be able to achieve on other fields. Mercurius tries to contribute to this.
