About Mercy Education Project
Mercy Education Project (MEP) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was founded by the Sisters of Mercy of Detroit in 1992. Mercy Education Project provides exceptional educational programs designed to promote economic mobility and stability for girls, women and their families in and around Detroit. Once a very small tutoring program, Mercy Education Project continues to grow every year. Last program year we served 120 women and had more than 70 students in our girls' program, plus a waiting list. MEP could not do what we do without the generous support of volunteers and donors. Many of our tutors (all volunteers) have been with us for 5 or more years, some more than 10. Community support from organizations and individuals is the base upon which we are building the future.
