About Meri Toksave
Meri Toksave Inc. ("information for women" in Tok Pisin) is an emerging, pioneering youth-led charity with a mission at the intersection of gender justice and youth empowerment across the Pacific. An Australian registered charity with bases in Brisbane and Port Moresby, we are focused on sustainable, impactful and youth-led programmes through meaningful and robust local partnerships for the promotion and protection of human rights, the empowerment of women and girls, the advancement of gender equality, and the prevention and elimination of domestic, sexual and gender-based violence. We formerly specialised in monitoring, verifying and improving the information asymmetries and inaccessibility of cross-sectoral services for women and survivors of violence across all provinces of Papua New Guinea. Previous flagship projects were the Meri Toksave Directory and the They Say, We Say campaign. Co-founded by Ayesha Lutschini, Tasman Bain, and Courtney Price in early 2013, Meri Toksave is a Member of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network and an Observer of the International NGO Development Council of Papua New Guinea. We were previously a Member of the United Nations Global Partnership for Youth in the Post-2015 Development Agenda and a Partner of the United Nations My World Survey. We are an incorporated association in Queensland, a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, and endorsed for charity tax concessions by the Australian Taxation Office.
