About Merops

Merops strives to provide an excellent practical learning, teaching and research environment to biology students, enabling them to learn about fauna, flora, their environment and their conservation in a safe, inclusive and sustainable structure. We are located in the south of France and are easily accessible by terrestrial public transports. The location provides a great diversity of habitat (from coastal to alpine) and contains species that are representative of the European fauna and flora while also including Mediterranean specialities. The climate allows activities from March to October and the region provides a unique case study of the impact of human activities on the environment. We can provide a unique, sustainable, inclusive and enriching experience to the students thanks to our experience in organising and supervising field trips. In addition to our knowledge of the region, we provide a whole range of field equipment, computers, books and a small laboratory.
