The parent company, Metarom, was founded in the 1950s by Maurice Métayer in France. The name is a combination of the founder’s last name and arome, from the French word for aroma or flavoring. “Global reach, with a local focus” is our mantra. As part of the Metarom Group, we enjoy global collaboration, supply chain optimization, and a wealth of market insights from every corner of the world. Our customers are the companies that use our high-quality ingredients to create food and beverages. We regularly welcome customers from all over the country to our state-of-the-art facility in San Diego, California, for tours, tasting sessions, and education.
