About Metro Fair Housing Services
Metro Fair Housing is a non-profit civil rights organization providing fair housing services to the Atlanta Metropolitan area for more than 30 years. We are the oldest fair housing organization in the southeast and we continue to serve the community by fighting against discrimination in housing. What is Fair Housing? The Fair Housing Act was approved in 1968. This act prohibits housing discrimination based on membership in the following protected classes: Race Color National Origin Religion Sex (Gender) Familial Status (the presence of children under the age of 18) Disability Our counseling services are completely free of charge. Metro Fair Housing Services, Inc. is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), City of Atlanta, DeKalb County, Fulton County, Clayton County, and West Tennessee Legal Services.
