Founded in 1942, Metropolitan Engineering, Inc. | Shapiro-O’Brien (MEI|SO) is the oldest active consulting engineering firm in the Washington DC region with experience in designing hundreds of buildings and thousands of interior renovation projects. MEI|SO delivers innovative MEP consulting engineering services through highly interactive relationships with commercial, residential and institutional developers in which we assess, plan design and manage diverse facility projects. We specialize in new construction, renovation, energy retrofit, sustainable, LEED and Energy Star design.
