About Metta Welfare Association
Metta Welfare Association (Metta) founded in 1992, provides early intervention programmes for the young under 2 years old to palliative care for elderly over 100 years old with “life-limiting” illness. Day activity care and training centres, residential and respite care for adults with Intellectual Disabilities. Day rehabilitation services for elderly and stroke clients, home nursing and medical care for clients with chronic illnesses and organ failure. Special Education for students aged 7 to 18, 21 years old with Mild Intellectual Disability (MID), moderate-to-severe Special Education Needs (SEN), Autism (ASD) and Autism-Intellectual Disability (ASD-ID). Youth Employment Support for students who graduated from Special Education, a place where comprehensive training and development are provided to increase employment opportunities for these graduates, empowering our youth with life skills that promote integration and independence. Metta at 1 glance (from the Financial year 2021/2022): - served 1,360 individuals in need. - 3,190 home visits were made by our medical team. - conducted 34,320 of early intervention hours for children with special needs. - 1,636 food ration packs were issued to low-income families. - 1,681 volunteer hours were dedicated by our volunteers to support the programmes and services. - Total staff strength of 389. - 7,096 number of staff training hours completed. - Total donation raised was $6,492,900 Metta's Social Service Programmes range from Children Care, Special Education, Youth Employment Support, Disability Care and Medical Care to other social services as required by the community.
