Mex 1 Coastal Cantina is named after Mexico 1 – the Mexican Federal Highway that runs the length of the Baja California Peninsula from Tijuana in the North to Cabo san Lucas at the Southern tip. Mexico 1 is dotted with epic surf spots and authentic taco joints and cantinas. The local cantinas serve up simple but flavorful food, memorable margaritas and ice cold beer. These establishments are often the central gathering place for a community and encourage discussion and storytelling among surfers, locals, tourists and wanderers alike. This bona fide locale is what inspired us to create Mex 1 Coastal Cantina right here at home in South Carolina.
