About Mexican American Council
MAC's mission is "to ensure that every farmworker child is provided access to the arts and a quality education for a brighter future." The Mexican American Council (MAC) was established in 1990. MAC offers graduating high school students college scholarships to counter high school drop out rates and encourage college completion. Since creating our "College Readiness Program" MAC also provides these high school graduates mentorship and inspiration throughout their four years of high school. MAC identifies student's during middle school, and continues to assist them through high school and into their college transition. MAC also has a college club where we continue to work with these student's. We fund our college scholarships and student services through a unique public-private fund raising model, and our mentors generously volunteer their mentoring services to our children. MAC's multi-year commitment to at-risk children throughout the state of Florida is also an investment in the communities in which our students live. Since our inception over 25,000 children and their parents have participated in MAC programs & activites throughout Florida.
