About Mia San Mia Palestine

MIA SAN MIA Palestine, the first officially registered fan-club of an international soccer team in all of Palestine. The fan-club was founded in 2005 and registered officially in 28th January 2014 and attracts an increasing number of Palestinians all over West Bank and Gaza ever since. Definitely our main focus is on social events. For instance, we organize gatherings in cafés, restaurants or in public in the major cities of Palestine, such as Nablus, Hebron, Bethlehem but also here in Ramallah, to watch all Bayern Munich matches and support our team with up to 150 people attending. In addition, when there are no matches, we host get-togethers during which we have quizzes, contest or simply sit together and discuss what we love: the beautiful sport of soccer. It is important to understand that the FC Bayern Munich fan-club is about so much more than simply watching a soccer match. What we are trying to do is to create a space in which the Palestinians, regardless of age, gender or social status can gather, make conversation, exchange different viewpoints and simply have a good time- and all this in a relaxing, peaceful environment. Especially considering the harsh struggles all of us are facing on a daily basis our activities are a much appreciated distraction. We truly believe that the FCBayern fan-club enriches the socio-cultural life in places such as Ramallah in multiple ways. First, by giving people the chance to meet up and get to know each other, all because of a common interest in soccer in general and FC Bayern Munich in particular, our fan-club certainly is helping people to establish new ties. Moreover, I should emphasize our efforts to connect to the people living in Gaza as we are trying to involve them in our meetings through video-messages or via Skype. We want to express our solidarity with them and wish to act as a uniting factor in Palestinian society. Three words can summarize us: 1- Creativity. 2- Activity. 3- Continuity.
