Building the confidence and character to succeed — on the field, in the classroom and in life. Since 2000, America SCORES has accomplished that goal by delivering free after-school and summer programming that combines three equally fun, powerful activities: soccer, poetry and service-learning. Together they help us shape enthusiastic students into Poet-Athletes, who grow passionate about our program’s activities—and grow actively engaged in our communities, city and world. Today, America SCORES serves: * more than 15,000 youth attending Title I public schools * 13 cities across North America * more than 300 Title I public elementary and middle schools * more than 800 coaches Today, America SCORES students: * write more than 20,000 original literary works each year * get 10 times more exercise than the national average * publish their work in magazines * participate in spoken word events in front of audiences of hundreds Miami SCORES, Powered by Concacaf, is thrilled to become the 13th Affiliate within the America SCORES family, and offers after-school programs that support whole child development through the teamwork of soccer, the creativity of poetry, and the compassion of service-learning.
