Description The purpose of this organization is to foster an environment where every member of the BYU Marriott community is valued, empowered and supported in reaching their individual potential, consistent with the mission and aims of BYU and the BYU Marriott School of Business. Our college community is united by shared commitments and enriched by the perspectives of individuals who vary in their gender, religion, first generation status, sexual orientation, and ethnicity/race. We will strive to help all students know they belong by: 1. Fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment at BYU Marriott through outreach to students from diverse backgrounds and those who have had diverse life experiences. 2. Actively encouraging all students to participate in existing BYU Marriott student organizations, activities and events. 3. Designing experiences that allow students to observe role models, obtain support and share stories with people from diverse backgrounds. 4. Building bridges and fostering dialogue between individuals from different backgrounds. 5. Sponsoring events that bring the college community together with a shared purpose. 6. Facilitating engagement with companies that provide professional development around diversity and inclusion who have an interest in interacting and building relationships with BYU Marriott students and programs (consistent with the mission and aims of a BYU education). 7.
