About Michigan Warriors Hockey Team
The Michigan Warriors are Flint and Genesee County's newest hockey team set to play at Perani Arena in 2010-2011. They will play in the North Division of the North American Hockey League. Celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2010-11, the NAHL is largest USA Hockey-sanctioned Junior A league boasting 25 teams from across North America. It prides itself on the social maturity and skill development of student-athletes ages 16-20 with aspirations of advancing to collegiate and/or professional hockey. NAHL competition helps players make the transition from Midget and high school hockey to the college and professional ranks by creating an environment that is highly competitive, encourages skill development and provides time for physical growth and maturity. To generate exposure and enhance competition, each team plays a 54-game regular-season schedule which runs from September to April, with exhibition games and league playoff games providing additional contests.
