Mickie & Mum was created to bring beautifully handcrafted clothing to those celebrating life's special moments. From birthday outfits to bringing home the new baby, our goal is to create beautiful collections for your family's special day. How did our little shop come to exist? Funny you should ask. Before we had our own daughter, I was not a crafter. Really - I had zero interest in crafting - like negative none, ZERO. Despite my mom and mother-in-law's attempts to show me the right of passage with motherly duties and activities, I truly wanted nothing to do with crafting. However, once I had Mickie in my arms, my whole world turned upside down and I wanted all of the pretty things. So, I taught myself to sew and embroider. What started as a fun hobby making my little one custom clothing, quickly morphed into a new career and an opportunity to spend more time with my family at home. On October 13. 2015, 8 months after Mickie was born, I filed the paperwork and Mickie & Mum was brought to life. Over the years, I worked as a Project Manager at an engineering and manufacturing company during the day, and at night, while everyone else was sleeping, I grew Mickie & Mum. Though I loved the PM work, my heart had moved on to the idea of working for myself. After 15 years in the corporate world, I decided to make the leap and in January of 2020, my sole job became running and operating Mickie & Mum. Though the “Mum” may lead you to believe we are from somewhere much more exotic, we are a small family shop based in Colorado. When Mickie first started talking, it was mmmmmuummm mmmm for me. Kind of sounded like mum, kind of was a stretch, but I thought Mickie & Mum was perfect for our little shop. Your support is so very much appreciated.
