About Microbes go to school
« Microbes go to school » is a transdisciplinary and cross-platform service-learning project aiming to create new bonds between the academic world and schools, with a better dissemination of scientific knowledge among swiss population and a stimulated interest for scientific curriculums among the youth as ultimate goals. Our teaching strategy consists of exploring positive and negative impacts of microorganisms on human societies, through classroom workshops (6-15 years old) lead by last year bachelor biology students. Focusing on this duality allows to awaken kids about the complexity of issues related to microbiology and thereby their parents, as well as developing scientific communication and vulgarization skills for the students. This project is meant to live through the young creative minds, schools and social media at the same time. It is presently funded by the SNF through Agora program.
